Sounds like the driver of the Fusion lost their arm in the accident and may have had a tire going flat when they pulled right.

I saw some comments on the news sites that thought they saw a rear tire blow but I think that’s just a smudge on the windshield of the camera car. I don’t know what kind of mechanical failure would cause the Fusion to gradually move over like that but I guess it’s a possibility .

That footage looks handheld, with nothing particularly interesting to be recording at that moment except for this Fusion. I wonder if they saw the car swerving between lanes as it approached, and decided to start filming it. Note that the Fusion is already straddling both lanes at the start of the clip, and we never see a signal to indicate that any of these maneuvers were intentional lane changes.

If you look closely at the Fusion, there’s a little puff of smoke like a tire blew out right before the collision.
Though having said that, even with a flat tire, they should have been able to steer somewhat as well as letting off the throttle to slow down.

I would guess they were on their phone.
Judging by the fact that they couldn’t keep it in their lane through the whole video.

I think it’s just a smudge on the camera that happens to be in the right place.
